Before establishing or operating a pearl farm, we conduct thorough environmental impact assessments to understand the potential effects on local ecosystems. This helps us minimize negative impacts and protect biodiversity.

We take measures to protect natural habitats, such as mangroves and coral reefs, which are essential for the health of marine ecosystems. This may involve establishing buffer zones around farms to minimize sedimentation and pollution runoff.

Our Farming Process

01

Selecting The Oysters

The process begins with selecting the appropriate species of oysters for pearl cultivation. In the case of South Sea pearls, the oysters typically belong to the Pinctada maxima species, known for producing large and lustrous pearls.

02

Oysters Husbandry

Oysters are cultivated in carefully managed pearl farms located in the pristine waters of the South Seas, including regions like Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The oysters are placed in underwater cages or racks suspended in the ocean, where they are protected from predators and environmental stressors.

03

Implantation

After the oysters have reached a certain size and maturity, they undergo a surgical procedure known as grafting or implantation. A small incision is made in the oyster's mantle tissue, and a small bead nucleus, usually made from a polished shell fragment, is inserted along with a small piece of mantle tissue from another oyster. This stimulates the oyster to begin secreting nacre, the iridescent substance that forms the pearl's layers.

04

Nacre Deposition

Over the course of several months to several years, the oyster secretes layers of nacre around the implanted nucleus, gradually forming a pearl. The quality of the pearl, including its size, shape, color, and luster, is influenced by factors such as the oyster's genetics, environmental conditions, and the care taken during cultivation.

05

Harvesting

Once the pearls have reached the desired size and quality, they are carefully harvested from the oysters. This process requires skill and precision to avoid damaging the pearls or the oysters. Pearls are typically harvested manually by trained technicians who carefully open each oyster and extract the pearls.

06

Sorting and Grading

After harvesting, the pearls are sorted and graded according to various criteria, including size, shape, color, luster, surface quality, and symmetry. This helps ensure consistency and uniformity in the final jewelry pieces.

07

Design and Setting

Once sorted and graded, the pearls are ready to be transformed into jewelry pieces. Designers work closely with artisans to create unique and elegant designs that showcase the beauty of the pearls. Settings may be made from various precious metals such as gold or platinum, and additional gemstones or embellishments may be added to enhance the overall aesthetic.

08

Craftsmanship

Skilled artisans then meticulously craft the jewelry pieces, using traditional techniques combined with modern technology to achieve the desired finish and quality. This may involve processes such as soldering, polishing, engraving, and setting the pearls into their respective settings.

09

Quality Control

Throughout the manufacturing process, strict quality control measures are implemented to ensure that each jewelry piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. This involves thorough inspection and testing to identify any defects or imperfections that need to be addressed.

10

Final Inspection and Packaging

Once the jewelry pieces have been completed, they undergo a final inspection to ensure that they meet all specifications and standards. They are then carefully packaged and prepared for distribution to retail outlets or directly to customers.
